Create

The create stage is the fourth phase in the design process. In this stage, all the work completed in the investigation, design, and plan phases combine to make the final product. In this phase, the plan is followed to create the final model. A process journal also needs to be completed, which explains the process of building your final model. At the end of this phase, an evaluation of the model and process journal is completed.

Positives

The “Create” phase of the design process is the most important stage. I am not very good at constructing the final product, but have always been good at writing the process journal. This stage was no exception as I believe I wrote a brilliant process journal that was full of very detailed descriptions, and pictures showing the process of the construction of the final product. This stage has so many positives because of the feedback I received from peers, parents, and my teacher, Mr. Thorburn. Without this feedback, I would not have created such a successful “Create” stage. This is the main positive I found with my “Create” stage. My "Testing" section was done pretty well, as I made my own WordWall, and asked a large variety of people to provide some feedback for me.

Negatives

As far as my clock goes, I believe I was less successful in this area. I think that my clock is fairly attractive, but I think it should be easier to read because many people gave me feedback stating that it should have some numbers. Looking at my “Testing” section, I believe it could have been done much better. I should have asked more people for their thoughts on my clock, and also could have asked them to suggest more improvements to my clock. These are the main negatives to my clock.

Improvements

To improve my “Create” phase, I would increase the quality and the ease of reading in my clock. I would implement numbers into my clock so that my target audience would have an easier time reading it. Finally, I would also improve my “Testing” section by posing more questions to the people asked to gain more feedback than whether they think it is attractive or not. These are the changes I would make to my clock unit “Create,” if I were to do it again.
