Plan

The plan stage is the third phase of the design process. In brief, this stage involves writing a plan for making the final design into a model/product. The plan is divided into steps, each easy-to-understand and detailed, and includes the tools and techniques. After the plan is complete, an evaluation of the plan is written below.

Positives

I believe that my plan is the highest quality of any stage completed during the clock unit. I really do believe that the plan is one of the most important stages in the design cycle because it is significant to use your time wisely in the “Create” stage, and I believe without this plan, I would not use all of my time effectively. Overall, I believe that my whole entire stage was very successful. My plan was very, very detailed and I found it easy-to-follow when I was constructing my final product in the “Create” stage. I included pictures for every step and separated the plan into different days. I also included the techniques, tools, and resources I would be using during every step. My evaluation of my plan was also very successful, and I provided many details on what could have been improved on my plan. Overall, I was very happy with this stage of the MYP Design Cycle.

Negatives

The only negative I can really think of with my planning phase is the fact that I did not remember to include the process journal section as I do not remember Mr. Thorburn stating that we had to. I planned the final product very well, but the process journal had little to no planning for it as I thought I would do it all at home. This is the one negative I could find with this stage.

Improvements

To improve this very well done stage, all that needs to be done is one thing. I need to implement the process journal into the plan. All that was included in the plan was the construction of the final product, so I need to find a way to also include the process journal in the future when I carry out this phase again.
